How to Track a GLP-1 Protocol

GLP-1 protocols involve weekly injections, dose titration every 4 weeks, rotation across 3-4 injection sites, and compounded vials that vary in concentration. A tracking app handles all of it — here's how to set one up properly.

What to Log on Every Injection

For each weekly GLP-1 injection: date and time, current dose in mg or mcg, vial lot (if you're tracking reconstitution batches), injection site, and any side effects (nausea, appetite changes, GI symptoms). The injection site log matters more than most users realize — repeated injections at the same abdominal site cause lipodystrophy, which reduces medication absorption inconsistently over time.

For compounded semaglutide or tirzepatide: also log the vial concentration (mg/mL) and the syringe draw units for that week's dose. Concentrations vary by pharmacy and sometimes by batch — logging this context means your dose calculations are verifiable at any point in the future.

How do I calculate draw units for compounded semaglutide?
